How the US inadvertently funded terrorism in India

Almost all of the western media stand today in solidarity when it comes to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

In their POV, Russia is evil while Ukraine needs saving. Because of that, they’ll even provide arms and ammunition to the citizens of Ukraine.

Sounds familiar? Remember when USSR invaded Afganisthan and US went on to arm Hizbul Mujahideen with sophisticated weapons in the hope that it’ll offer resistance to USSR.

It did not turn out well for the United States in the long run, nor for the people of Afghanistan. The only profitable player out of this chaos was the US gun industry.

These shenanigans of the US administration led to the formation of the Taliban, which kicked the US out of Afghanistan. Then formed a government of terrorists, indirectly causing harm to the sovereignty of India.

When the US fled Afganisthan, they left 100,000 people and thousands of weapons behind them. Little did they know that those same weapons would be found in Kashmir (India), firing at Indian defense forces.

India was not even involved in the power struggle between the USSR and US. But now, terrorists equipped with American weaponry in their hands attack India now and then.

Earlier this year, officials in J&K detected a dozen signatures of Iridium satellite phones used during the Afghan war by the US-led forces and Wi-Fi-enabled thermal imaging devices.

Just imagine, who would have thought terrorists from Afghani caves using equipment like Thermal imaging devices? All thanks to the great United States of America.

Major General Ajay Chandpuria says that any time of year, India expects around 100–150 terrorists at launchpad near borders.

“In the infiltration attempts that have been neutralized, we have had recoveries of modern American assault rifles, modern generation thermal imaging night vision devices and such like equipment”, he says.

One more thing worrying India is the exponential increase in the supply of heroin from Afghanistan.

Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team say, “Three tonnes of Afghan-origin heroin were seized in India in September 2021. One member state reported that smuggling via the Islamic Republic of Iran to Turkey and Europe has increased by up to 50 percent since the Taliban assumed power.” (source)

Even recently, Indian officials confiscated Afghan-origin heroin worth 700 crores in April. Reportedly, the heroin came via Pakistan to the Indian state of Punjab.

Along with the supply of modernized weaponry and drugs, the mishap in Afghanistan has also allowed the entry of the Islamic State & Al-Qaeda into India.

In 2021, AQIS (Al Qaeda in Indian Subcontinent) changed its magazine name from “Nawa-i Afghan Jihad” to “Nawa-e-Gazwah-e-Hind.” Hinting at the shift of focus from Afghanistan to India (Kashmir specifically).

However, the earlier discussed report also stated, that neither ISIL-K nor Al-Qaeda is believed to be capable of mounting international attacks before 2023 at the earliest, regardless of their intent or of whether the Taliban acts to restrain them.

Which did not age well. In 2022, there have been several incidents of terrorism funded by IS.

Yesterday only, the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack on J&K police. In the video released by Islamic State-linked Amaq’, it was seen that terrorists wore body cam while attacking police personnel, which resulted in the martyrdom of one Police officer.

The rise of such attacks and the outcome of Afghanistan has some degree of involvement in distancing India from the US.

In the past few months, the west repeatedly said that India should choose the “right” side in the Russia-Ukraine war.

But why do they tend to forget that even when India did not choose any side, it suffered.

The US and Britain combined have caused more destruction around the world than any other nation. How can they now claim to be the bearer of the white flag when war is at their door?
